AVIF to JPG

Convert next-gen AVIF images to JPG

AVIF is the newest image format on the web, and more sites serve it every month. Save an image from one of those sites and you may end up with an .avif file that your photo editor, Office apps or older operating system cannot open. pdfty's AVIF to JPG converter turns it into a standard JPG that works everywhere.

Conversion runs on our server with Pillow and libheif and saves at quality 85. JPG has no transparency, so any transparent areas in the AVIF are filled with white — use a PNG-based workflow if you need the clear background. Animated AVIFs are converted as a still image. Phone photos keep their correct orientation.

Upload several AVIFs at once and get a ZIP with one JPG per file. Free: no daily limit, up to 20 MB per file, no watermark, no sign-up. Files are deleted within 1 hour. The JPGs open in Windows Photos, Office, Photoshop, older phones and every upload form that rejects AVIF.

Frequently asked questions

AVIF is recent. Older versions of Windows, Photoshop, Office and many apps do not support it yet. JPG works in all of them.
