DDS to PNG

Convert DDS images to PNG online in seconds.

DDS (DirectDraw Surface) is the texture container used by DirectX games and engines, often with GPU-compressed (DXT/BC) data and mipmaps. PNG keeps every pixel exactly and supports transparent backgrounds, which makes it ideal for editing, screenshots, logos and graphics.

The top-level texture is decoded; mipmaps are ignored. If your DDS has transparent areas, they stay transparent in the PNG. PNG is lossless, so the conversion adds no compression artifacts.

You can drop several DDS files at once and get a ZIP of PNG files. Each file can be up to 20 MB; there's no daily limit and no signup, and uploads are deleted from our servers within 1 hour.
