pdfty's flatten tool merges interactive elements — form fields, checkboxes, dropdowns, annotations, and stamps — into the static page content. The filled-in values stay visible, but they're no longer editable fields: what you see is permanently what everyone gets.
Flattening solves two everyday problems. First, editability: a filled AcroForm can be altered by anyone with a PDF editor — flattening freezes your answers before you submit an application or send a signed agreement. Second, compatibility: form data lives in a separate layer that some viewers, print drivers, and mobile apps render incorrectly or not at all, which is why forms sometimes print blank. After flattening, fields are ordinary page content that every viewer shows identically.
The operation runs on pikepdf, rewriting field appearance streams into the page losslessly — text quality and layout are untouched. Free for files up to 20 MB and 50 pages, no watermark, no signup. Files are uploaded over HTTPS and permanently deleted within 1 hour.
