PNG to JPG

Convert PNG to smaller JPG files

PNG is perfect for graphics but wasteful for photos: a photo saved as PNG can be five times larger than the same image as JPG. pdfty's PNG to JPG converter shrinks those files so they fit email attachment limits, upload forms with size caps and messaging apps, without visible quality loss.

Conversion runs on our server with Pillow, saving at quality 85. JPG cannot store transparency, so transparent areas are filled with white — fine for photos and screenshots, but a logo on a transparent background will get a white box behind it. In that case PNG to WebP keeps transparency and still reduces size.

Upload several PNGs at once and download a ZIP with one JPG per file. Free: no daily limit, up to 20 MB per file, no watermark, no sign-up. Uploads are deleted within 1 hour. To push the size down even further, run the JPGs through Compress Image with the 70 or 50 preset.
