GIF to PNG

Convert GIFs to PNG — every frame of animations

Need a still from an animated GIF, or want to edit a GIF in a tool that only handles regular images? pdfty's GIF to PNG converter handles both cases. A static GIF becomes one PNG. An animated GIF is split into every frame, each saved as its own PNG and delivered together in a ZIP — handy for reaction-GIF stills, sprite sheets and frame-by-frame editing.

Conversion runs on our server with Pillow. PNG is lossless and supports transparency, so frames look exactly as they did in the GIF, with transparent areas intact. Note that GIF is limited to 256 colors, and converting to PNG does not bring back colors or detail the GIF already lost.

Upload several GIFs at once and get a ZIP of the converted images. Free: no daily limit, up to 20 MB per file, no watermark, no sign-up. Files are deleted within 1 hour. Frames are numbered in playback order, so you can rebuild the animation later with PNG to GIF.
