PNG to GIF

Turn PNGs into a GIF — several images make an animation

pdfty's PNG to GIF converter covers two jobs. Upload a single PNG and you get a static GIF for platforms or legacy tools that insist on that format. Upload several PNGs and they become one animated GIF — a quick way to make a simple slideshow, a step-by-step UI demo or a looping reaction image without opening an editor.

Frames are used in the order you upload them, each shown for 0.5 seconds, and the animation loops forever. Conversion runs on our server with Pillow. Be aware that GIF is limited to 256 colors, so photos and smooth gradients get visible banding or dithering; flat graphics and screenshots look much better.

Free: no daily limit, up to 20 MB per file, no watermark, no sign-up. All uploads are deleted within 1 hour. For a smaller, full-color image, PNG to WebP is usually the better choice. Use PNGs of the same dimensions so the frames line up cleanly.

How it works

  1. 1

    Upload PNGs in order

One PNG for a static GIF, or several PNGs for an animation. Upload order = frame order.

  2. 2

    Click Convert

Images are reduced to the 256-color GIF palette and assembled.

  3. 3

    Animation timing

Each frame is shown for 0.5 s and the GIF loops continuously.

  4. 4

    Download

You get one .gif — static or animated.

  5. 5

    Done in 1 hour

Uploads and the result are deleted from our servers within 1 hour.
