Each download holds four complete sudoku puzzles laid out two by two on a single page, with thick rules around the nine 3x3 boxes and hairlines between the squares so the grid reads clearly at arm's length. The caption above every puzzle tells you how many givens it starts with. Easy grids open with 39 numbers, medium with 31 or 32, and hard with 26 to 28, which is where a sudoku starts to need pencil marks rather than scanning.

Every puzzle is generated from a complete solution and then dug out in symmetric pairs, and the generator checks after each removal that only one solution survives. Nothing on these pages needs guesswork: there is always a next square you can place by reasoning alone. Because the same difficulty always produces the same four puzzles, you can reprint a sheet and get the identical grids, which matters if a class or a club is working through them together.

Leave the answers option on and the solutions print on a second page, each grid numbered to match. Turn it off if you are handing the puzzles to someone else and want to keep the answers to yourself. A short how-to-play note sits under the grids for anyone new to the game. The sheet is a plain vector page with nothing to type into, so print as many copies as you like.

How to use it

  1. 1

    Pick a difficulty

Easy starts with 39 numbers in place, medium with about 31, hard with about 27.

  2. 2

    Decide about the answers

Keep the solution page for solo play, or leave it out when you are setting the puzzles for somebody else.

  3. 3

    Print it and play

Print at 100% ("Actual size") so the grid keeps its proportions. This sheet has no form fields: it is made to be played with a pen or pencil.

  4. 4

Solve one square at a time

Each row, column and 3x3 box takes the digits 1 to 9 once. No puzzle here needs a guess.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. There is no watermark and no sign-up for your first 20 downloads each day; after that a free account keeps downloads going. You may print the file as often as you like for personal, school or business use.
Yes. The generator counts the solutions after removing each pair of numbers and puts a pair back if more than one solution would remain, so each grid resolves to a single answer.
No. There are no form fields, because filling 200 boxes with a mouse is slower than writing them. Print the page, or open it in a stylus app such as GoodNotes or Xodo and write on top.
The same difficulty always gives the same four puzzles, so a reprint matches the sheet you already have. Change the difficulty for a different set.
Hard grids start with 26 to 28 numbers and will usually need candidate marks in the empty squares. They are solvable by logic throughout, with no trial and error required.
US Letter if you print in North America, A4 almost everywhere else. The layout is rebuilt for each size, so the sheet fills the page either way instead of leaving a white band down one edge.
