One page, a stack of games. The grids are drawn the way everyone draws them by hand, as two crossed pairs of lines rather than a boxed-in table, with heavy strokes that leave plenty of room inside each cell for a large X or O. Six grids a page gives squares about two and a half inches across, comfortable for small children; twelve grids a page is the version to print for a car journey or a restaurant table.
Each grid is numbered, so a pair of players can keep track of which game they are on and argue about game four afterwards. Along the top of the sheet there is a tally line for X wins, O wins and draws, which turns a handful of two-minute games into a proper match with a result at the end rather than a pile of finished grids nobody counted. Fill the three lines in as you go and the sheet settles the question itself.
The sheet is deliberately plain: no colour to use up ink, no clip art, nothing that needs explaining. It prints the same on a laser printer, an inkjet or a photocopier, and because it is a vector file the lines stay sharp if you enlarge it onto A3 for a classroom wall. There is nothing to type into; this is a page for a pen.
