How to add text to a PDF
Add text places a new text box anywhere on the page, which is handy for filling in a form that has no fields, adding a note or labeling a diagram. You control the font, size, style and color of every box.
Step by step
Choose Add text
Click Add text in the tool rail or press T.
Click where the text should go
A text box appears at that spot. Start typing right away.
Style the text
In the properties panel, choose Helvetica, Times or Courier, set the size, turn on bold or italic, and pick a color, alignment and opacity.
Move or change it later
Double-click a box to change its text again, or select it to adjust its style in the properties panel.
Tips
- Lower the opacity to make a subtle label or a light watermark-style note.
- Courier is a good match for typewriter-style forms, Times for formal letters.
- Select a box and press Delete or Backspace to remove it.
