Seven columns take each job: date, what broke and where, what was done, who did it, cost, warranty until, and the date of the next check. It is the sheet you wish you had when the same radiator fails again, or when a buyer's surveyor asks when the roof was last touched, or when a part fails eleven months into a twelve-month guarantee.
The cost column prints no currency symbol anywhere, so you write the figure in whatever currency you use and the page works in any country. The warranty column is for the date cover runs out rather than a length in months, because a date is the thing you can actually check against a calendar, and the next check column is for the service, the sweep or the inspection that this job commits you to a year from now.
At the foot a ruled panel records where the receipts, manuals and warranty papers are kept — the drawer, the folder, the shared folder online. That single line saves more time than the rest of the sheet when something goes wrong two years later. Choose sixteen roomy rows or twenty-two tighter ones; every cell is a form field, so the log can live on a laptop and be printed when you need it on paper. One page in US Letter or A4.
