Periods run down the left with a space to write the time each one starts and ends; Monday to Friday run across the top. Every one of the 30 or 40 cells is built in three parts: a wide line for the subject, then a smaller Room line and a Teacher line underneath. That is the detail a plain grid leaves out and the one a student actually needs in week one, when the subject is familiar but the room number is not.

Choose eight periods for a secondary or high school day, or six for a shorter timetable or a university week. Whichever you pick, the grid fills the page and the space left over becomes two ruled boxes along the bottom, one for clubs, sport and after school and one for notes and reminders. Name and year or term fields sit under the title so a printed copy can go on a locker door or in the front of a folder.

Every cell is a form field, 132 of them on the eight-period sheet, so the timetable can be typed once and reprinted each term, or printed blank and filled in by hand on the first day. It is one portrait page of vector lines, drawn separately for US Letter and A4, and it prints perfectly well in black and white if you are copying it for a whole class.
