This is a reference chart rather than a worksheet. Twenty-six boxes, four across and seven down, each hold one letter in upper and lower case, large enough to read from a few feet away. Alternate boxes are shaded so the eye can follow a row, and the two spare boxes at the bottom right hold the whole alphabet again as a strip, which is useful when a child is hunting for the letter that comes next.
Pick print for everyday classroom handwriting, or cursive to show how the joined forms are built. The cursive chart uses a looped school hand and keeps the same twenty-six boxes and the same alphabet strip, so the two charts can be pinned up side by side while a class moves from print to cursive. Children who are still learning to read print often need the capital and the lower-case form of a cursive letter next to each other, and that is exactly what each box gives them.
The picture-box option leaves an empty square beside every letter. Children draw something that begins with that letter, which turns the chart into a quiet activity and leaves them with a reference page they made themselves. It is a useful first-week task and an easy way to check which sounds a child already knows. Both options fit on one page at US Letter or A4, and because the shading is light the chart still prints cleanly in black and white when your printer is out of color.
