The long division layout gives you 12 problems in three columns of four. Each one is set up the way it should be written: the divisor, the division bracket, the dividend under the bar and faint ruled lines below for multiplying and subtracting. The quotient goes above the bar. Dividends run up to three digits and every quotient is a two-digit whole number, so each problem takes two full steps of the algorithm.

The simple layout swaps all that for 36 division facts written across the page as 48 divided by 6 equals, with a line and a form field for the answer. It suits fact practice, early finishers and timed drills. Either way the divisor range is yours to choose: 2 to 5 for beginners, 6 to 9 for the harder tables, or 2 to 12 for mixed revision.

Nothing on these sheets has a remainder — every dividend is a multiple of its divisor — so children can check their own work by multiplying back. Add the answer key and the PDF becomes two pages, with the quotients printed in red in the place they belong: above the bar for long division, on the answer line for the facts page.

How to use it

    Choose the layout

Long division with working space, or a page of 36 short division facts.

  2. 2

    Print or fill it in

Print at 100% ("Actual size") so lines and boxes keep their exact spacing, or fill the form fields on screen in any PDF viewer.
