The first mode asks for a percentage of a number: twenty-four questions such as 25% of 80, using percentages a child can work out mentally by finding ten percent or a half and building from there. Every answer is a whole number, so a decimal in the answer box is a sign that something went wrong rather than a rounding problem. The note under the title gives the method: divide by a hundred to find one percent, then multiply.

The second mode turns the question round and asks which percentage one number is of another, written so the blank comes first and the two numbers follow. It uses the same clean pairs, so the answers are whole percentages. Doing both sheets in a week is the quickest way to show a class that the two questions are the same relationship read from different ends.

The answer lines sit at the same place in every row, which makes a column of answers easy to scan when marking. Each line is a form field for working on screen. Turn the answer key on and the PDF becomes two pages, the worksheet and then the same questions with the answers printed in red, and the same mode always gives the same twenty-four questions.
