Twelve clock faces fill the page in three columns of four. Each one is drawn with the numbers 1 to 12, a tick for every minute and longer marks on the hours, so children can count round in fives. In read-the-time mode the hands are already drawn and there is a line under each clock to write the time on; in draw-the-hands mode the faces are empty and a digital time is printed underneath for the child to show.

The interval controls how hard the sheet is. To the hour gives twelve o'clock times for a first lesson, the half hour adds the hands pointing straight down, the quarter hour brings in quarter past and quarter to, and five minutes covers the whole clock. Whichever you pick, the sheet uses each of the twelve hours once, so the same hour never comes up twice on a page.

In read-the-time mode every answer line is a form field, so the worksheet can be completed on a computer or tablet. Switch the answer key on and the PDF becomes two pages: the worksheet, then the same clocks with the times written in red, or with the hands drawn in red for the draw-the-hands version — which also makes a neat model to show after the children have tried it.
