Each row on this sheet is a short number track of nine cells that counts on by a fixed step. Four cells in every row are left as empty boxes for the child to fill, and the rest are printed, so the pattern can always be picked up from the numbers that are there. A label at the start of the row says which step it is counting by, and small arrows between the cells show which way the track runs.

The step option sets what the page practises. Counting by 2s, 5s or 10s gives ten rows of the same step with different starting numbers, which is the usual way these are learned. The mixed setting gives one row each for the steps 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 12, so the page doubles as early times-table practice without being written as multiplication.

Every empty box is a form field, so the numbers can be typed on screen or written in by hand after printing. Turn the answer key on and the PDF has a second page with the same ten rows and the missing numbers printed in red. Because the rows are generated from the step you pick, the same option always gives the same ten sequences, so the key always matches the sheet. Everything fits one page in US Letter or A4.
